Mel Noven displayed his photography throughout the Chicago area.  These locations included the Time-Life Building, Thorek Hospital, CBS Radio, Barth Galleries, Chicago Press and other locations.

He was a regular participant in art fairs including Gold Coast, Water Tower, Ravinia, Crete, Park Forest, Old Town and many others

He was recognized at many of these festivals and fairs for his photography.

While he sold many of his photographs during these events, his main enjoyment was to display his art for others to appreciate and enjoy.  His favorite part of these events was to interact with other artists and the people who appreciated his work.

Our Story

  • Mel was born in Hyde Park and raised in Hyde Park.  This began a lifelong fascination with Hyde Park, the south side and Chicago.
  • He served as a member of the engineering corps in Korea.
  • He owned A & A Electric in Roseland and provided electrical repairs in all areas of Chicago.
  • He was married with 3 children and moved to Jeffrey Manor and later to Park Forest.
  • Mel was involved with the family, his community,  and his Synagogue.  He was honored by the Israel Bonds Committee at Congregation Am Echad in Park Forest.  
  • His passions included photography, jazz music, boating and his family.
